Hi, I am Gaurav! I am currently working on using complex datasets to create knowledge graphs. I believe that complex problems, including the world's most pressing problems such as climate change, poverty, HIV or conflict are multidimensional and require multidimensional data to address. My goal as a researcher is to embrace this multidimensionality and develop tools that help combine complex datasets including tabular, geo-spatial and textual data into a coherent narrative. I realized the importance of navigating complex data when I working with observational data to explore the role of public transportation in enhancing equity (NeurIPS '22 Workshop on Causal Machine Learning) and later when understanding how geospatial mapping crime in cities (ASA 23 winner). I also realized the potential of LLMs to reason I devised a game to show reasoning capabilites of autonomous agents (ACL Workshop on Wordplay). I also love teaching. I have been a TA for courses including Computer Vision (Spring 2024), Data Science for Business(Fall 2024), Machine Learning (Fall 2024), and I hope to continue to teach in some capacity. Finally, I like to try 1 new thing every year that I could never have seen myself doing in the past. The things I have tried in the past include learning to play the drums, calligraphy, fire and rescue service, learning Mandarin, darkroom photography, rowing, and most recently ballroom dance.
